Frequently asked questions
Can't find what you need? Email support@geeksgif.io — a person answers within one business day.
Do I need design experience to use GeeksGIF?
No. Describe what you want in plain language, or drop in a photo or clip, and the engine handles the animation, timing, and looping.
What's a "render" and how do credits work?
Each GIF you generate or re-export counts as one render. Free accounts get a starter allowance each month; paid plans include a larger allowance that renews on your billing date.
What file types can I upload?
MP4, MOV, and WebM for clips; JPG, PNG, and WebP for photos. Exports come out as GIF, and Creator and Studio plans can also export MP4 and WebP for smaller file sizes.
Can I use GeeksGIF for commercial and client work?
Yes, on Creator and Studio plans. Anything you render is yours to publish, sell, or hand off to a client.
Does GeeksGIF store the photos or clips I upload?
Source files are kept only long enough to render your GIF, then removed from active storage. You can delete a project and its files immediately from your dashboard at any time.
Will GeeksGIF generate a GIF of a real person without their consent?
No. Prompt-to-GIF won't generate likenesses of real, identifiable people from a text prompt alone, and uploads of real people are limited to content you have the rights to use.
Can I remove the GeeksGIF watermark?
Free exports include a small corner watermark. Creator and Studio plans export watermark-free by default, and Studio can add your own logo watermark instead.
Is there an API?
Yes, on the Studio plan. It covers prompt-to-GIF, clip-to-GIF, and status polling for bulk rendering pipelines.
How do I cancel?
From Account → Billing, one click, no retention call. You keep access through the end of the billing period you already paid for.
Do you offer refunds?
If something went wrong on our end within your first 7 days on a paid plan, contact support and we'll make it right.
