About
Built by people who lived in the comments section
LCFMODGEEKS started as a small tools team inside a much larger community-moderation outfit. The people keeping forums, Discords, and subreddits running kept building scrappy internal scripts to turn screenshots and clips into reaction GIFs faster than any general-purpose editor would let them. GeeksGIF is that internal tool, rebuilt for anyone who needs a GIF right now — not after an afternoon spent learning a timeline editor.
What we’re building toward
A GIF maker that keeps up with how fast conversations actually move online. That means no experience required to get a good result, rendering that takes seconds instead of minutes, and an engine that respects the people whose faces and voices might end up in the output.
How we work
GeeksGIF is maintained by a small, remote team that ships changes weekly rather than waiting for a big quarterly release. If you send us a bug, a real person reads it.
What we hold ourselves to
- Speed over ceremony. If a feature adds a click without adding value, we cut it.
- Plain language over jargon. Renders, not “workflows.” Frames, not “assets.”
- Creators own what they make. Anything you render on a paid plan is yours, full stop.
- We ask before we automate real people’s likenesses. Consent isn’t a feature we bolt on later.
GeeksGIF launched in 2023 and is built and maintained by LCFMODGEEKS.
